The food is always fresh, with breakfast and lunch buffet style, afternoon snacks are served here, and dinner is served at the table with meat, fish, and chicken choices. There really is something for everyone here, and that isn’t only food but also activities.

Blackbird Caye Resort is a world class Belize Dive Resort, with over 70 dive sites near the Caye, and accessible in a little over ten minutes. There are dive packages offering in some instances three tanks a day.

A Cheap Vacation Destination in Stann Creek Belize

Looking for an affordable destination close to the Barrier reef in Belize with comfortable accommodation, good food, and not too far away from the mainland, then check out Thatch Caye Resort.

With only eleven rooms, and an average year round cost of slightly over USD200, Thatch Caye Resort will give you not only an affordable vacation, but it is also a cheap vacation destination bearing in mind what you will get for your money. Thatch Caye is an island complex within the protected South Water Marine Reserve in the Coco Plum Range of Islands. It is renowned not only as a top resort for scuba diving in Belize, but also as a great place for fly fishing in Belize.

You will be one of a maximum of 22 guests accommodated in 11 beautifully positioned villas, some of which have lovely ocean views. The heart of the resort is Thatch Central where reception, and the dining room is found, and one of the two bars, the outdoor Wave Bar also has a thatched roof shelter and glorious local hardwoods.

This is a very nice resort and Thatch Caye Resort in fact may be an affordable vacation spot because of the reasonable price, but it is light years away from being what you think a cheap vacation destination would be like. It might be cheap, in other words not expensive, but a long way from being cheap as in nasty.

St George’s Caye is quite narrow and long, and you have the lagoon view cabanas on one side, and the ocean view on the other, and it only takes two minutes to get from one side to the other. The lagoon side has the amazing sunsets, and the view of a tiny island with a very attractive house standing alone, plus views of the mangroves. The ocean side watches the sun come up in all its splendour, and it’s here you have the beach, the pier, the coconut palms, and the thatched sunshades on the beach. The thing to do is to get up early and grab a hammock, and watch the sunset with the coffee that arrives at your door every morning.

Unfortunately whilst the beach looks good it isn’t great for swimming, so the hotel organizes trips to a sandbar, so the guests can swim there.

The accommodation choices are either Oceanfront Cabanas, Lagoon Cabanas, Garden Cabanas, or Resort Rooms, and Resort Reef Rooms which are in the main resort where you take meals. As a preference for privacy the 4 Oceanfront Cabanas, or the 2 Garden Cabanas would be best because the Lagoon Cabanas sit in a semi circle on the decking over the water. They have all been refurbished and are well equipped.

An Eco Resort on South Water Caye Belize

A Belize Family Vacation is very popular in this day and age, but most people who look for a beachfront location end up on Ambergris Caye, which is becoming more and more developed. A Belize Island more accurately referred to as a Caye, that is worth a good look at is South Water Caye, and especially Pelicans Pouch South Water Caye, which is an Eco resort, and a great place for a Belize Family Vacation.

Pelicans Pouch South Water Caye has only twelve rooms, and whilst the accommodation is a little basic with solar powered lighting and showers, they subdivide into cottages or rooms, each of the cottages with two bedroom units which can be individually occupied. The 8 cottage rooms have private entrances, one Queen Size bed, and a twin or double bed. They all have environmentally friendly technology for not only the power, but also water and garbage disposal.

How this works is the water supply is from stored rainwater, then pumped under pressure, so following the instructions to Rinse-Get Soapy, then Rinse is important, turning off the water in between each stage. Sunshine charges photoelectric cells and the charged batteries are used for lighting refrigerators and fans. You won’t find any plugs in the rooms be warned.

There is a state of the art waste disposal, composting toilets, to minimize the use of water, and are simple to use. The main lodge called Pelicans Pouch has five large guest rooms on the second floor. These are best suited to a family group as they are a little less private than the cottages.

Exploring Wilderness Trails

Exploring wilderness trails along the Western Cape provides visitors with the opportunity to experience a once in a lifetime adventure. The wilderness trails are located within the boundaries of the Kruger National Park. Visitors are provided with the opportunity to experience the unique nature features of the area up close and personal for three days, on foot. The tour is designed for groups that include up to eight people. During the tour, guests will traverse the trails under the expert guidance of armed rangers.

A base camp provides overnight accommodations, complete with rustic huts to provide guests with a complete cultural experience during their tour. Daytime hours are filled with hiking opportunities, some of which cover up to 20 km distances on foot. Flush toilets and showers are available. These tours are ideal for visitors as young as 12 and up to age 60. It is recommended that visitors have a fairly good level of fitness in order to manage the 20 km walks that comprise the daily tours.

Each night the group will return to the overnight base camp for socialization and rest before embarking on the next day’s hike. Wholesome, simple meals are provided for the duration of the tour, starting with rusks and coffee each morning. A light meal is provided in the bush along with a brunch during the noon hour. Evening meals are typically comprised of barbecues and hunters’ stews along with vegetables and salads. Several interesting trails lie within the hiking area. The Bushman trail runs along the southwestern edge of Kruger National Park near a secluded valley. The landscape along this trail features Bushman paintings and such wildlife as buffalo, elephants and white rhinos. The Metsi-Metsi trail is situated area that is to the east of Nwarmuriwa Mountain. Between Pretoriuskop and Skukuza, the Napi trail lies in a scenic woodland area, bordered by the Byamiti and Napi streams. Granite hills and soft, rolling plains comprise a large portion of this area. Table Mountain National Park

Table Mountain National Park is situated along the Southwestern tip of Africa. The park begins at scenic Signal Hill and stretches all the way down to Cape Point, covering a distance of approximately 60 km. The Park comprises part of the Cape Floristic Region World Heritage Site. From an aerial view, Table Mountain National Park resembles a narrow finger, featuring a variety of spectacular beaches, bays and valleys. The Park is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the west and False Bay on the east. Two of the most beautiful landmarks in the country can be found inside the park, the Cape of Good Hope and Table Mountain.

The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, fondly referred to as V &A Waterfront, is one of the premier areas around Cape Town. The area comprises not only a working harbour but also numerous gathering places and historical sites as well. The history of the waterfront reaches all the way back to 1860.
